Overview
Welcome to our 5th annual TGR Pottinger at Pottinger Gap, Shek O (The race is 2020 was cancelled due to COVID-19). We are so happy to launch the race again after 3 years of COVID-19 pandemic. Like the versions before, this will be full of heart, laughter and sweat, possibly a few tears and ice-cold beverages. Don’t let the elevation profile trick you. This is a challenging race, the highlight being a rope section up to Pottinger Peak. Race solo or as a team of up to five, including our most popular family race category. See you at the start line in April!

Pottinger Peak is the eastmost mountain of Hong Kong Island with open views. There is a militarily observation point on the peak to work with Devil's Peak Battery and Sai Wan Battery defending the east waters of Victoria Harbour during World War II. Furthermore, Dragon’s Back is widely famous by local people and foreign visitors as the most beautiful trail in Hong Kong.
When you start in Pottinger Gap, you run along the biking trail and climb Dragon’s Back. The spectacular view of the east waters and mountains of the island is expected. You will run back to Pottinger Gap, climb Pottinger Peak, and then go down to the village of Tai Long Wan before climbing up the Pottinger Gap as the finish.

5K
It is a short loop. Runners will start in Pottinger Gap, climb Pottinger Peak immediately, and then run down to Tai Long Wan. They climb the long stairs back in the village and cross the finish line in Pottinger Gap.

Opening hours are 11:00am to 8:00pm on weekdays and Saturdays, and 11:00am to 6:00pm on Sundays and most public holidays. We are closed for T8 weather warning - please check our Facebook page for updates.

- We have a secure bag drop tent available on race day
- We do not provide plastic bags for personal belongings
- Please bring your own bag to be left at the Start/Finish
- Fasten the bag tag provided at race pack collection to your personal bag

- We will not be held responsible for any lost or missing items on race day
- Lost & Found is located at the Bag Drop tent on race day

- Runners found to be inadequately prepared or missing mandatory items will be penalised or disqualified in order to maintain the safety of all competitors.
- Standard time penalty is 15 mins deducted from the overall finishing time.
